The Internet? Bah!
By Jake Ruddy. Posted: September 14 2010

Do you remember the first time you used the Internet? For me, it was 1991 and it was much different than it is today. Like many, I spent a great deal of time on it, even though I was on 9600 baud modem and everything took forever to load. The future of technology looked very bright back then, to me at least.
Along comes 1995 and Clifford Stoll. Clifford wrote a very interesting article in Newsweek on Feb. 26th, 1995. The title of this article was "The Internet? Bah! - Hype alert: Why cyberspace isn't, and will never be, nirvana"
As a computer geek I found this article and some of the claims to be extremely funny. 15 years later I think anyone who has any experience with the Internet will find it funny as well. I thought I would share the article with you, just in case you were still tied up in the Internet "Hype"
You can also see a rather funny, yet educational video of Clifford Stoll here on TED.com
